About The Programs

Jenny's Dance Centre provides the highest level of dance instruction, training students to develop a well rounded education in all areas of dance-Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Lyrical, Tap, and Hip Hop. Our 7200 square foot facility boasts three extra large studios with sprung floors, a student lounge, a custom costume shop, and individual changing rooms.

Serving the Chicago area communities of Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Libertyville, Lincolnshire, Mundelein, Gurnee, Green Oaks, Vernon Hills, Waukegan, Highland Park, Highwood, Deerfield and more, Jenny's Dance Centre is home to the award-winning JDC Company, a nationally-recognized group of pre-professional students.

Under the direction of Jenny Campbell, the studio offers several programs: our annual school year program from September through June culminating with our fantastic recital at the College of Lake County, our 5 week summer program from June through August, and our 2 week summer intensive with master instructors.

HAZARDOUS/INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Jenny’s Dance Centre reserves the right to cancel classes due to hazardous weather. Because of limited studio space and time, canceled classes are not re-scheduled. However, students are welcome to make-up a canceled class in another class of their choice provided it is the appropriate level and/or subject. In the event classes may be canceled, please phone the Dance Centre voice mail for cancellation announcements and emails will be sent.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

REGISTRATION FORMS

All registration forms will be processed as first come, first served.

Payment is required to process registration. Faxed registrations must be accompanied by a credit card payment.

All registration forms must be completed, including home phone, email and cell phone (required for emergencies and class cancellations), birth date, waiver/policy signature and payment. Incomplete forms will be returned and will delay the process of your registration.

Please fill out a separate registration form for each child registered.

A security code form is necessary for each family, and will give you access to the studio.

TUITION AND FEES

First half year tuition per non-company student:

(45-60 Minute Classes)

1 Class:  $288

2 Classes:  $564

3 Classes:  $829

4 Classes:  $1082

5 Classes:  $1324

6 Classes:  $1566

7+ Classes: $1726

75-90 minute classes add $76 per class

REFUND/CREDIT POLICY

No refunds will be given after August 31, 2012. There will be a $50 service fee charged for each class refunded before the deadline. Credit towards future tuition will be considered if a student suffers a serious injury or illness. Requests for medical credit must be made in writing and be accompanied by a physician’s certificate. Credit is only valid for the specific student to whom it is issued.

RETURNING STUDENTS

Students who have completed the 2011-2012 season are considered returning students. All returning students must adhere to the placement levels assigned by their instructors. Evaluation forms must accompany registration forms.

NEW STUDENTS

New students enrolled for summer 2012 will be given second priority to our returning students. New student registration will be accepted at any time.

SCHEDULING

if there is a scheduling conflict with the level of class recommended, the student may stay at the level from the previous year, if space is available. Students may not skip levels due to personal scheduling conflicts, included but not limited to carpools or peer grouping issues. Schedule changes made by the registrant will be accepted on a space-available basis.

REQUIRED CLASS ATTIRE

Please adhere to the dress code. We promote a professional atmosphere for a dance education. Neatness is a must as it effects one’s performance within the classroom.  Dancers who come to class not dressed in the appropriate required attire will not be permitted to dance.

BALLET

LEOTARD:  Please follow the chart for the required leotard color per level.

SHOES: Pink split sole ballet shoes (Bloch #258)

TIGHTS: Light pink tights (Capezio or Body Wrappers ultra soft)

CO. BALLET: Angelo Luzio #202A

BALLET SHORTS: May be worn in levels 3 and higher. Shorts must be solid black dance shorts. Sport or soccer shorts will not be permitted at any time.

POINTE CLASSES

JDC HIGHLY recommends Russian Pointe for pointe shoe brand. This shoe can be purchased at Allegro Dance Boutique in Evanston (10% JDC Discount), Russian Pointe in Downtown Chicago or Dance N Tees in Libertyville or Schaumburg. All pointe shoes must have shoe fitting approved by an instructor prior to sewing on ribbons and elastic.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE FOR ALL CLASSES

At all times, ladies hair should be in a bun or ponytail. Short hair should be secured with a full headband and away from the face.

Tights must be worn at all times-no holes please.

Label your name in all your dance shoes.

Dancers with back-to-back classes must have pink tights for ballet classes, however tan or pink tights are acceptable for other dance classes.

Ballet skirts may not be longer than the top of the thigh. Skirts may not be worn in jazz class.

The following items are not permitted at any time: panty hose, tutus, anklets, leg warmers, socks, bicycle shorts, bike unitards, jewelry (including watches)half headbands (full fabric headbands only) or gum.

No loose fitting garments are to be worn over leotards such as t-shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts, boxer shorts, soccer shorts, baggy dance pants, sweat pants, etc. Loose fitting garments are permitted in hip hop only.
